Campbell confident Seasiders can steer clear of trouble

DJ Campbell insists Blackpool are prepared to 'fight every inch of the way' in their survival bid. The Seasiders continue to hold their own among England's elite, but have seen an impressive campaign unravel slightly of late. A 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday saw them pick up their first point in six outings, with five straight defeats having seen them slip into trouble. With just two points now separating them from the drop zone, there is a fear that all of their hard work so far could count for nothing. Campbell, though, is confident Ian Holloway's side can beat the drop, with team morale as high as ever around Bloomfield Road.

Achievement

He told the club's official website: "We were unlucky not to get all three points [against Villa], but delighted to have stopped the rot. It's a point and the way things have been, we can't complain. "We got back to hitting our diagonal balls more often, and supporting them really well. "We were more like ourselves on Saturday. I don't know what's been missing. We've been working and trying as hard as ever, but something just wasn't clicking the way it was earlier in the season. "It will be a terrific achievement if we stay up and we'll fight every inch of the way."
