Baggies and Forest keeping tabs on combative midfielder

Skysports.com understands Leeds midfielder Bradley Johnson is being tracked by West Brom and Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer after turning down a new deal in November last year and was subsequently placed on the transfer list. He was linked with a move away from the club during the January transfer window but with manager Simon Grayson short of midfield options, he remained at Elland Road. However, with no progress being made on contract negotiations, Premier League side West Brom and Championship outfit Forest have been alerted to his situation.

Good form

Both clubs will hope to be playing in the top-flight next season, with the Baggies bidding to avoid relegation and Forest gunning for promotion. Johnson has been in good form of late for the Whites despite his uncertain future, as Grayson's men continue to be a presence at the top end of the Championship. The former Northampton Town battler arrived in West Yorkshire for £250,000 back in January 2008 and so far this season has scored six times in 35 appearances - including a stunning effort against Arsenal in the FA Cup. Other Premier League clubs have been linked with a swoop for Johnson in the past, including Stoke, Wigan and Bolton.
