Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd admits he is unlikely to allow striker Roy O'Donovan to go out on loan in the immediate future.
O'Donovan joined the Sky Blues on a free transfer from Sunderland last summer, but he has made just four appearances this season.
The Irishman has not featured in the Championship since November and he had been linked with a loan move away from the Ricoh Arena.
However, though the 25-year-old is down the pecking order at Coventry, Boothroyd is currently reluctant to sanction a loan move for the forward.
Excellent professional
"At this moment in time we have got to keep as many as we can," said Boothroyd in the
Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"It has been well documented that it is right for Michael McIndoe to move on but Roy is different because he is in and around the squad each week and on the bench.
"I think Roy has been unlucky. He's an excellent professional who comes in and does his work every week and I have got no doubts about him because of what he has done before at Hartlepool where he scored nine goals in 15 games on loan last season.
"But I think the fact that Marlon King, Clive Platt, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Freddy Eastwood have done so well, he's been unfortunate.
"I have got a little bit of a phobia of letting anyone go at the minute after our recent injury list until we get more players back fit."
