Sheffield United are eager to keep hold of Wolves striker Sam Vokes on loan until the end of the season.
The Wales international initially moved to Bramall Lane on a one-month deal to aid the Blades' fight against relegation from the Championship.
He proved a valuable asset on Tuesday, scoring his first goal for the club in their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest, a first victory in 14 matches.
Vokes still has two games to play before his initial loan expires, but the Yorkshire side are planning to approach Wolves boss Mick McCarthy over a possible extension, despite the fact he has started just two matches after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Big unit
Assistant manager Alan Cork said: "The way Sam has been playing, I think we have to look to keep him. He's a big unit and worked his socks off the other night.
"It could be another three games before Sam is flying but that's what happens when you bring in loan players at this time of year. You are not getting fully fit players."
The Blades have added to their ranks by signing Australian goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old has impressed whilst on trial at the club and could make the squad for their game against Watford on Saturday.
Thomas joins on a free transfer from Australian side Bankstown City Lions after previously being on trial at Coventry.
