Richard Foster expects to return to Aberdeen from Rangers when his season-long loan expires in the summer.
The versatile defender does not anticipate that the defending Scottish champions will look to extend his stay and is happy to return to Pittodrie.
Former boss Mark McGhee gave Foster's move to Glasgow the green light and the 25-year-old believes current manager Craig Brown wants him back.
"My situation as it stands is that I'm going back to Aberdeen for next season, up until this point that's the way it is," he said,

"I've seen in the papers that they (Brown and assistant Archie Knox) want me to go back and if that's the case at the end of the season I'd be more than happy and I'd work as hard as I can for them."
However, he believes the time he has spent at Rangers, where he has made 20 appearances so far this season, has allowed him to answer some critics.
He added: "I had to prove a few doubters wrong when I came here.
"I think coming from a smaller SPL club there was always going to be scepticism - but hopefully my performances have relieved any fears fans may have and hopefully I'm good enough to play for Rangers."
