Ian Holloway launched a blistering attack on his Blackpool defenders after they conceded two soft goals in their 3-1 defeat to Wigan.
Hugo Rodallega pounced on a slip by Craig Cathcart to give the Latics an early lead and another defensive blunder allowed Charles N'Zogbia to add the second before the interval.
The game was wrapped up after 66 minutes when Mohammed Diame's deflected shot wrong-footed Matt Gilks.
But Holloway was livid with his defenders for their elementary mistakes in the way they conceded the first two goals.
"It's just unbelievable," he told Sky Sports. "We might as well have got a shotgun and blown off both of our feet.
"We're in a fantastic position to put them under pressure and one of the young players made a decision to go and pass the ball and then he passed it to one of their forwards and he slipped.
"They go down and score a goal and blow me down within two and a half minutes, we've given them the biggest lift ever.
"I thought that affected us, I thought that affected the crowd and give them a shot in the arm and then I was hoping that we could get them in at half time.
"We get a throw in and throw it square instead of throwing it up the line, we might as well have put those two chances in ourselves."
This game was the first of five that Blackpool have at home for the rest of the season.
The loss means that they are now in the bottom three but, just like they have done all campaign, the pugnacious Tangerines boss is confident they will upset the odds.
He added: "I believe that we will bounce back, we know where we are now and we are not looking down, we have a fight on our hands and I believe that suits us better.
"We've gone right to the top of the odds at the bookies and they are obviously rubbing their hands and everyone that told us that we were rubbish at the start of the season is probably saying 'I told you so'."
