Clear the air meeting ended team-bonding matter

Aston Villa defender James Collins says last month's disciplinary issue was blown out of proportion by the media. Collins and team-mate Richard Dunne were punished by Villa, who opted not to release exact details, following a team-bonding trip in Leicestershire. The duo were perceived to have been a disruptive influence on the exercise and the team's form suffered in the aftermath as Villa slipped into relegation contention. However, an unbeaten April run of three games, including back-to-back wins, has propelled Villa into the top half of the Premier League, with Collins insisting they are over the slump. "It was blown out of proportion really, but we all had a meeting and it seems to have done the trick," Collins told The Sun. "We've put it all behind us and showed great spirit. We've got seven points, which talks for itself."
