Black Cats admits fitness concerns over loan star

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits he has yet to make a decision on a deal for on-loan midfielder Sulley Muntari. Muntari, who is on loan from Inter Milan, enhanced his chances of winning a permanent deal at the Stadium of Light with the late winner in the 2-1 victory at Bolton. Ghana international Muntari has struggled to make an impact on Wearside and the player's agent indicated earlier this week a permanent move to Sunderland was unlikely because of his price tag. However, Bruce says he will make a decision on Muntari at the end of the season and he believes it is only now that the former Portsmouth man is fit enough to play in the Premier League.

Decision

"There's a deal in place for Sulley but nothing has been finalised as yet," said Bruce. "We will make a decision at the end of the season. "The problem with Sulley is fitness if I am honest. He did not play for six months this season. "He won the Champions League with Inter but then found himself out of the side. He has just got to the level of fitness you need to play in the Premier League."
