Midfielder follows team-mates in staying with Serie A champions

AC Milan have confirmed veteran midfielder Clarence Seedorf has signed a new one-year contract at the San Siro. The Dutch schemer's deal was due to expire in the summer, but he has pledged to stay with the Serie A champions for at least one more season. Seedorf has been with Milan since 2002 and has made over 200 appearances for the Rossoneri. He scored four league goals in 30 league appearances this season to help Milan win their first scudetto since 2004. The 35-year-old is the latest player to have had his contract with Milan extended, as captain Massimo Ambrosini, Thiago Silva, Mark van Bommel, Flavio Roma, Alessandro Nesta and Filippo Inzaghi all signed new deals this month.
