Egyptian moves to Stadium of Light on three-year deal

Sunderland winger Ahmed Elmohamady has signed a permanent deal with the club after a season-long loan. The 23-year-old Egypt international made 38 appearances for the Black Cats last season whilst on loan from ENPPI, and the deal taking him to the Stadium of Light last year included a clause for a pre-arranged fee. Steve Bruce has opted to exercise that clause and Elmohamady has now agreed a three-year contract until the summer of 2014 for an undisclosed sum. Bruce told the club's official website: "Ahmed has done well in his first season with the club and has shown plenty of potential. "We look forward to helping him grow as a player and I think there is much more to come from him." Sunderland's squad is set to undergo a number a changes this summer as Bruce uses the money from Jordan Henderson's anticipated £20million departure to Liverpool to reinvest in new players.
