French forward keen to experience life in Serie A

Djibril Cisse has expressed a desire to join Lazio this summer, admitting he is 'fascinated by Italy'. The French forward is currently on the books of Greek outfit Panathinaikos and is under contract until June 2013. There is, however, every chance he could be on the move this summer, with Pana keen to cut their wage bill. Cisse would be happy to take on a new challenge and is setting his sights on Serie A. Lazio would be his preferred option, but he must wait for the Rome-based outfit to offload one of their strikers before transfer talks can begin.

Developments

Cisse told Corriere dello Sport: "I speak often to my agent and I hope to hear new developments soon. "I am fascinated by Italy, by Serie A and by Lazio. "Lazio is a club of international level, one that has won in the past and wants to continue to do so in the future. "It would be wonderful to play in a team that will fight for the Scudetto and in Europe." Cisse began his career in France with Auxerre and has gone on to represent Liverpool, Marseille and Sunderland, as well as earning 40 caps for his country.
