Attacker looking forward to playing in League One again

Scunthorpe United have snapped up Andy Barcham on a two-year contract from League Two club Gillingham. Barcham, who can play up front or on the wing, was out of contract at Gillingham and has opted to step back up to League One with Scunthorpe. The 24-year-old spent almost three years at Priestfield and he is looking forward to playing for the Iron next season. "The gaffer Alan Knill got in touch with my agent and told me of his interest, then I met up with him and we took it from there," the former Tottenham youngster told the club's official website. "Quite a lot of things appealed to me really. I like the way the gaffer likes to play football. The club's ambition appealed too. "I know they got relegated last season but they've made it clear they want to try and get back in the Championship and that matches what I want to do. "I'm looking forward to playing football again and meeting the lads. I just want to get playing now to be honest."
