Defender targeted by Rangers

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies has praised Lee Wallace's attitude amid intense transfer speculation. The 23-year-old full-back has already been the subject of one failed bid from SPL champions Rangers and the Glasgow outfit are expected to table another offer. Hearts are currently in Italy for pre-season training and Jefferies is delighted with Wallace's efforts. Jefferies told the Daily Record: "Lee's been absolutely fantastic. He knows the speculation is there but he's come out here with a real attitude. "He's at the front of every session and he loves that type of training. "When we took over here, he wasn't in that shape but you have to give him the credit. He went to a lot of boxing training and realised what he had to do. "But he's never said a word to me about Rangers. When we were here with Stevie Naismith while he was at Kilmarnock and Rangers were in for him, he was across every day asking what was happening! "But Lee has never mentioned a thing. He's got the attitude that he's here to get fit and if it happens it happens, if not he's in the right place. "He's a great boy. It would be natural for him to ask what's happening but he's gone about his business, never put any pressure on. He won't be distracted by it." Edinburgh-born Wallace has played for Hearts for his entire career, making more than 100 league appearances for the club.
