Bhoys' Polish keeper hoping to win top job

Celtic keeper Lukasz Zaluska is targeting first-team football after playing second fiddle during his time at Parkhead. The 29-year-old Pole joined from Dundee United in 2009, but he has been forced to predominantly watch from the sidelines behind the likes of Artur Boruc and then Fraser Forster. Zaluska mustered just two appearances last season and he is determined to win more playing time this term and prove to manager Neil Lennon that he can be the club's number one. The experienced shot-stopper loves Celtic and wants to stay at Parkhead, but he admits another season of being back-up is a prospect he would rather not consider. "After last year - my worst year ever because I played just two games - I'm pretty sure this season will be much better for me," he told the Scottish Sun.

Ready

"I'm ready to play, the gaffer knows that. I hope every game I can prove to him I can be Celtic number one. "To be honest after my first season when Artur Boruc was the Celtic number one keeper and I played something like 17 games, Artur then went to Fiorentina and I expected to play more than I did in that first season. "But Fraser came and played very well. He broke records for keeping clean sheets and everything. "I spoke with the gaffer a lot of times but Fraser did well and I have had to wait for my chance. "I hope it has come now and we will see what happens. I love this club, I want to stay here and I don't want to think about being second choice all season. I hope I play far more games."
