Bayern Munich chairman Uli Hoeness claims promises made to them regarding Arturo Vidal have been broken.

Hoeness disappointed to have missed out on Vidal

Bayern Munich chairman Uli Hoeness claims promises made to them regarding Arturo Vidal have been broken. Bayern believed the Chilean winger would be joining them this summer, once it became apparent that he would be leaving Bayer Leverkusen. They say assurances were made that Vidal would make his way to the Allianz Arena, reuniting him with former Leverkusen boss Jupp Heynckes. Hoeness has therefore been left disappointed to hear that the South American forward is in the process of completing a switch to Serie A outfit Juventus. He admits to being left angered by the whole situation, but accepts that nothing should be taken for granted in the modern transfer market.

Influence

"A promise has been broken with this," Hoeness told BILD. "But I never really held much hope. I did not believe 100 per cent that promises made would stand up in the end. "Artuto Vidal's positive words about Bayern Munich are two weeks old. In the meantime, I suppose some money has been exchanged and that will always influence a decision. "But the future of Bayern Munich does not rely on the signature of Arturo Vidal."
