Juve failing in Rossi bid

Serie A giants Juventus believe that Villarreal do not want to sell Giuseppe Rossi this summer.

Vucinic a potential alternative to Villarreal forward

Serie A giants Juventus believe that Villarreal do not want to sell Giuseppe Rossi this summer. The two clubs have been negotiating over the striker for the majority of the summer, however, they have not reached an agreement. Rossi's agent, Federico Pastorello, has previously urged Juventus to increase their offer to around €25million (£21.8m), but the Italian side now think that Villarreal are unwilling to sell. "Rossi is a real talent of the Italian game," Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Italia. "He is a player who we have put our eyes on, like other clubs. "We'll try to sign him, but over the last few hours it has emerged that Villarreal have the intention of keeping him.

Difficult

"If Rossi doesn't arrive then we'll take a look around." It has been speculated that Juventus will turn to Mirko Vucinic, who wants to leave Roma, as an alternative to Rossi. And Marotta said: "We do like him, but this is another really difficult operation to conclude," the former Sampdoria director added. "We want to complete our squad, to fill the gaps. There is still a month left. "We are looking for an important objective, but it is not easy as we are not as competitive as the English and Spanish clubs."
