Celtic set to discuss possible deal for striker with City this weekend

Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley is remaining optimistic that his Wales international team-mate Craig Bellamy will join him at Parkhead. Bellamy enjoyed a loan spell with the Bhoys six years ago and Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in signing the Manchester City striker. Lennon is planning to discuss a possible deal for Bellamy with City this weekend as both clubs are competing at the Dublin Cup. Former Liverpool and Blackburn forward Bellamy is looking to leave City on a permanent basis this summer after spending last season on loan at Cardiff City. The 32-year-old's wages have been mooted as a potential stumbling block to any deal, but Ledley is hoping a deal can be agreed for Bellamy to move to the SPL. "I'd love for Craig to come to Celtic," said Ledley. "He has been at the club before, knows what it's all about and would be a fantastic signing. "I've played with him for the national team and he has an incredible desire to win. Craig also brings the best out of his team-mates. "Craig would do very well at Celtic if some sort of deal was sorted out."
