Well boss feels striker would benefit from another season in the SPL

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has urged promising striker Jamie Murphy to spend another season at Fir Park. Murphy has been attracting interest from the English Premier League, with Stoke, Wigan, West Brom and Tottenham all rumoured to be watching him. The 21-year-old is under contract at Well until 2013 and McCall is hopeful of hanging onto the forward this season. McCall said: "I honestly believe another year will benefit him. Sometimes players leave Scotland for the Premier League or Championship and they are on the bench or reserves. "They are not playing week in, week out, learning the game. "Jamie is just 21, he is doing terrifically for us, but I genuinely believe another season and he will be ready." Murphy has been at Fir Park since he was 13 and made his debut in the 2006/07 season, aged just 17.
