Swans manager hoping to see keeper in action

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers plans on seeing Gerhard Tremmel in action in their upcoming friendlies before deciding his future. The trialist keeper has linked up with the newly-promoted Swans as Rodgers looks to bolster his options between the sticks this season. The Welsh outfit have lost number one shot-stopper Dorus De Vries while they also missed out on landing Fulham's David Stockdale, who joined Ipswich. The club have seen four bids for Nottingham Forest keeper Lee Camp rejected, leading Rodgers to turn to the former Bayern Munich and Red Bull Salzburg man. Swansea have upcoming friendlies against Celtic and Celta Vigo and Rodgers has hinted the German keeper will be given his chance to shine and win a deal with the club.

Plan

"We hope to see more of Gerhard," Rogers told the South Wales Evening Post. "The plan is for him to come and train with us in Swansea for a week, and he could play some part in the two friendlies. "He has been comfortable with everything we have asked him to do."
