Doncaster Rovers have confirmed they have signed Giles Barnes on a six-month contract.

Former Derby starlet hopes to kick-start his career at Doncaster

Doncaster Rovers have confirmed they have signed Giles Barnes on a six-month contract. The 22-year-old winger made his name at Derby where he notched 10 goals in 82 matches during his four-year tenure. Barnes played for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League last year where he featured 14 times for the Baggies. However, he failed to establish himself with the Midlands outfit and was released by the end of the campaign. Nottingham Forest were reported to be interested in the quicksilver wide man who celebrates his 23rd birthday on Friday. But Rovers have moved swiftly to bolster their attacking options and know if Barnes can rediscover the form he showed as a youngster at Derby, they will have a real asset.
