Full-back expected to agree extension through to 2014
Skysports.com understands Reading defender Shaun Cummings is poised to sign a new deal at the Madejski Stadium.
Cummings joined the Royals on a three-year contract from Chelsea in 2009 and he is now set to pledge his long-term future to the Championship club.
It is understood that the right-back will agree a two-year extension which will keep him in Brian McDermott's squad until 2014.
The 22-year-old had loan spells at MK Dons and West Bromwich Albion before he linked up with Reading for an undisclosed fee.
Though he has yet to cement a place in Reading's starting line-up due to the presence of Andy Griffin, Cummings is a valuable member of McDermott's squad.
