Striker delighted to join boyhood club from Wolves

Hibernian have completed the signing of Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths on a loan deal until the New Year. The Scotland Under 21 international joined Wolves in January from Dundee, but only made his debut as a late substitute in Tuesday's Carling Cup win at Northampton Town. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is keen for the 21-year-old to be playing regular first-team football and has sanctioned a return to Scotland. Griffiths was a boyhood Hibs fan and he is delighted to have secured the opportunity to play at Easter Road over the coming months.

Dream

"I am really happy to be joining the club on loan - playing for Hibernian is something that I've always wanted to do," Griffiths told the club's official website. "I went to school next to the stadium and started off playing with Leith Athletic. So to now be given the opportunity to represent my local club is something I've dreamed about for a long time. "I'm a Hibs fan, but I didn't just sign because of that - I view this move as being good for my development and my overall football career. "I'm keen to prove myself in the SPL by scoring goals and the fact it means I get to do that for Hibernian is an added bonus." Hibs boss Colin Calderwood added: "I'm delighted we've got him and I'm looking forward to seeing him make a big impression with Hibernian moving forward. "He provides another goal threat to our attacking arsenal and he was desperate to come. He has got good pace, he is very deceptive in the air and he is a proven goalscorer."
