Rangers ace Steven Naismith has expressed his delight that the club rejected Leicester City's bid for star striker Nikica Jelavic.
The Croatia international has proved a big hit during his time in Scotland, culminating in an offer from the ambitious Foxes.
Leicester offered Gers £6.5million for the ex-Rapid Vienna man, but the Light Blues rebuffed the bid from Sven Goran Eriksson's side.
Naismith knows Jelavic is a key player in Ally McCoist's squad and is delighted the club were able to keep Leicester at bay.
Massive
"He has been a massive player for us since he has been at the club and hopefully we can keep him. Hopefully if any more bids come in for him, they will be rejected," said Naismith.
"The squad is finally being built up and we have more numbers and quality in the squad. Hopefully, if we can keep everybody at the club, we can go on to do well this season.
"The boys who have been here have shown over the last few years that having a tight group and the bonding that's been here is what has brought us our success.
"Taking anybody out of that would be a massive blow so we are hoping we can keep Jelavic and push on and do well domestically this season.
"Everybody has their price but, luckily for me, I'm not the one who decides what price anybody is.
"He is a top-class forward and in football years he still has a bit to go before he reaches his peak. I'm sure he will be a world-class player by the end of his career."
Confident
Meanwhile, Naismith is confident he will be fit for Scotland's double-header against Czech Republic and Lithuania despite fitness concerns.
The Gers ace damaged his hip in Sunday's 2-0 win over Aberdeen but expects to train with the rest of the Scotland squad on Wednesday.
"I took a knock on the bone on my pelvis. Although it wasn't serious it was one of those that stays there for a while," he added.
"I've had a bit of treatment since I arrived and it's feeling much better so hopefully I will be back involved in training."
