Senegalese striker moves on as Blackburn part ways

El Hadji Diouf has left Blackburn Rovers by mutual consent, manager Steve Kean has confirmed. The Senegalese striker has been through a difficult relationship with Kean after Sam Allardyce left the club last year. He played just five times under Kean at Rovers before being loaned out to Rangers for the second half of last season. The Scottish club decided against taking Diouf on a permanent contract. The former Bolton forward had just six months left on his contract, but reportedly turned up late for training in pre-season. Kean said: "Dioufy has left the club. I think we reached a mutual-consent termination of his contract last night (Wednesday). "He will be moving on to pastures new and we wish him all the best."
