Striker could be out for three weeks due to groin problem

Everton striker Victor Anichebe has returned to the club after suffering a groin injury on international duty with Nigeria. Anichebe picked up the problem in the closing stages of Nigeria's 2-0 win over Madagascar on Saturday and reports suggest he could be sidelined for around three weeks. While Anichebe's Nigerian team-mates travelled to Bangladesh for a friendly with Argentina, the 23-year-old headed back to Britain. Nigeria coach Samson Siasia criticised the poor pitch in Antananarivo and said it was fortunate that more players were not injured in the African Nations Cup qualifier. Anichebe missed the opening four months of the Premier League campaign last season because of an ankle injury.
