Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto is confident new signing Emmanuel Adebayor will win over any detractors at White Hart Lane.
Adebayor has joined Tottenham on a season-long loan switch after finding himself frozen out of Roberto Mancini's plans at Manchester City.
The striker's arrival has not gone down well with all Tottenham fans due to his past Arsenal connections, but Assou-Ekotto believes the Spurs fans will soon love him if he is scoring goals.
"I don't think there will be any trouble with the Spurs fans and Emmanuel," Assou-Ekotto told
skysports.com at an event promoting EA SPORTS FIFA 12.
"The fans when they come to the stadium they come to watch football and give their best to the team and I am sure they will support Emmanuel.
"For sure when he used to play for Arsenal the fans did not like him, but for us everyone will love him if he scores 25 goals this season.
"Emmanuel is a great player and I believe he will be a great signing for Spurs this season."
