Striker being used as a scapegoat, according to Ioannidis

Georgios Samaras' agent has condemned the critics who have used the striker as a scapegoat for Celtic's disappointing recent run of form. The 26-year-old has been targeted by the club's fans and former players with the Hoops having lost two of their opening seven games. That run leaves Neil Lennon's men four points behind bitter rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League table. Dr Gregory Ioannidis has leapt to the defence of his client and feels he is being unfairly targeted for abuse. He wrote on Twitter: "I'm sick and tired of idiots singling out Sammy for the failures of the club. "Football is a team sport, you don't blame individuals." The Greece international has scored just eight goals in his last 48 appearances for the club.
