Blades boss looking for victory in local derby against Rotherham

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson hopes that the Johnstone's Paint Trophy can give his side a lift following consecutive defeats. The Blades' solid start to life in League One has taken a huge dent following defeats by Wycombe Wanderers and Charlton Athletic. However, United face local rivals Rotherham on Tuesday night and former Barnsley and Swindon boss Wilson says he will not be fielding a weakened side for the match. "The game is one which we want to win because it is a local derby and there is a lot of pride involved, plus it is a chance to get into the next round of the competition," Wilson told skysports.com. "We definitely want to win it and we will play the strongest side available to us at the time. "I've said many times before that winning games breeds confidence and we want to win as many games as we can, so Rotherham will be a massive game for us."

Winning mentality

Meanwhile, Blades midfielder Stephen Quinn insists that everyone at the club is putting 100 per cent into the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season. Quinn said: "I originally thought that the gaffer was going to focus solely on getting promotion this year, but he wants to win every game and go as far as we can in every competition. "We fielded a strong line-up against Burton and the boys did well, so why not go for it on all fronts. "We've got a reasonably strong and fit squad, whereas Sheffield Wednesday, for example, may be suffering with a few injuries and don't want to risk others picking up injuries in the cup competitions. "However, our gaffer wants to win every game and even when we were 3-1 down at half-time against Everton he wanted to keep pushing and try to get back into the game."
