Midfield ace would be happy discussing fresh terms

South Korea international Ki Sung-yueng is ready to commit his long-term future to Celtic should the club offer him a new deal. The 22 year-old has two years left on his current contract and is keen to follow the lead of Israeli team-mate Beram Kayal, who recently extended his Parkhead deal until 2015. Hoops boss Neil Lennon sees the talented midfielder as a long-term investment and should he continue to impress as he has done so far this term, an improved deal seems inevitable. Ki is hoping to extend his stay at Celtic but admitted he will wait patiently for the time to come, and that his immediate focus now is on helping the club regain the league title.

Talks

"I have two years left so I don't have to be in a hurry," he is quoted in the Sunday Mail. "Maybe at the end of the season we can talk about a new contract. They haven't spoken to me yet but it would appeal to me. "I'm young and I'm very happy with (the) players and the manager. I'm very pleased with this club. "But I just want to help the team win the league first. That's my target for this season."
