Defender believes equal responsibility key to Newcastle's success

Steven Taylor insists Newcastle United will not be getting carried away by their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. A Demba Ba hat-trick secured a 3-1 win for the Magpies at Stoke City on Monday night, lifting them above Chelsea into third place, a point behind Manchester United. Critics believed the big-name departures of Andy Carroll, Jose Enrique, and former captains Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton would see Alan Pardew's side struggle in this campaign. But a defiant team attitude personified by Jonas Gutierrez's shared Man of the Match performance against the Potters has proven Newcastle to be deserving of their league position. Taylor praised the team's work ethic but insisted they are remaining grounded ahead of their massive fixtures against Everton, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea. "We are just playing as a team, that is all we are doing," the defender said. "We can't afford to carry one person because we are a small squad and it has shown because everyone has pulled their weight. "We are not going to get carried away, it is still early stages. "We have been lucky in some games but we just have to get on with it. "We will keep on going and enjoy it really."
