The Football Association has confirmed Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz has been charged with spitting at an opponent.

The Football Association has confirmed Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz has been charged with spitting at an opponent.
Alcaraz appeared to spit at Wolves defender Richard Stearman during Sunday's clash between the sides at Molineux.
The incident sparked a brawl involving several players from each team with Wolves boss Mick McCarthy revealing his anger at Alcaraz.
Stearman confirmed after the game that Alcaraz had spat in his direction after it was initially thought it was aimed at Christophe Berra.
Referee Lee Probert missed the incident, but the FA has decided to take action against the Paraguay international.
Alcaraz could be banned for three matches if he is found guilty of the charge.
The FA said in a statement: "Wigan Athletic's Antolin Alcaraz has today been charged by The FA for spitting at an opponent.
"The incident, which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video, relates to his side's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers [yesterday].
"The player has until 6pm on November 8, 2011 to respond to the charge. If the player admits the charge he may accept an automatic three match suspension."
