Middlesbrough look to bolster attacking options

Skysports.com understands that Middlesbrough are looking to seal a deal for Carlisle's Francois Zoko before Thursday's loan deadline. The Ivorian caught the eye of Boro boss Tony Mowbray during the summer when he impressed against the Championship club in a pre-season friendly. And Boro got to see another look at Zoko in close quarters earlier this week as he played and scored in a behind closed-doors game. The likes of Southampton, Wigan and Spanish side Sporting Gijon have all previously been credited with an interest in Zoko - who can play up-front or on the wing. The 28-year-old has been with the Cumbrians since last summer, and scored ten goals in 40 appearances last season. Now he could get the chance to move to the Championship, if Boro are able to strike a deal with Carlisle.
