Holman and Poulsen unlikely to be sold in January

AZ Alkmaar have confirmed Brett Holman and Simon Poulsen will not be signing new contracts, but are unlikely to sell the duo in January. Striker Holman and defender Poulsen are out of contract at the end of the season and have declined AZ's offers to stay with the Eredivisie leaders. Australia international Holman recently admitted he would be open to a New Year departure after being linked with moves to the Premier League and Bundesliga. Denmark full-back Poulsen is reportedly a target for Aston Villa and has also been mooted for a transfer when the window reopens in January. However, AZ's director of football Earnest Stewart does not believe the club will receive any suitable bids for Holman and Poulsen in the coming weeks. "We will not forget about our sporting interests," said Stewart in Voetbal International. "Moreover, I doubt that next month there will be an offer on the table that we will find reasonable."
