Chelsea boss yet to make a decision on striker's future

Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed contract talks with Didier Drogba are ongoing and admits the Chelsea striker could play on for another couple of years. Drogba's current deal at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season and the Ivory Coast ace reportedly wants a two-year contract, with the Blues rumoured to be offering a 12-month extension. After scoring a brace in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Valencia which booked Chelsea's spot in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, Drogba expressed his belief that he is capable of playing at the highest level until he was 36. Villas-Boas has been delighted with Drogba's recent performances, but acknowledged there is still plenty to decide regarding the 33-year-old's future at the club. "I agree with that," said the Chelsea manager regarding Drogba's comments about continuing his top-level career. "His level of performance has been outstanding, helping the club and team-mates. "Of course, the club have to agree that players who perform are the players who should continue. "It's an ongoing talk with him and his people. "Also, we have to recall that he's going to the African Nations Cup and won't be back until February 12, so there's a lot to decide. "But his professionalism and integrity will never be in question, regardless with what happens with his contract."
