QPR boss suggests in-demand midfielder is worth more than £17m

Neil Warnock is determined to keep Alejandro Faurlin at Queens Park Rangers after the midfielder attracted interest from other clubs. Faurlin's agent revealed earlier this week that two rival Premier League teams, and one club from Serie A, are keeping tabs on the Argentine. Napoli are rumoured to be the 25-year-old's Italian admirers, but Warnock has no plans to cash in on Faurlin in the New Year. Warnock has suggested Faurlin's value is greater than the reported £17million Liverpool paid to sign England midfielder Jordan Henderson in the summer. However, the QPR boss also stressed that Faurlin would be the last player that he is looking to sell as he tries to keep the club in the Premier League. "If say, Jordan Henderson is worth what Liverpool paid for him then Ali's got to be worth more than that," Warnock told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle. "I said when we gave him an extended deal last year to 2014, he was the best signing I made at QPR, and he would be the very last to leave." Faurlin, who moved to Loftus Road in 2009, has been an ever present in the Premier League this season and could make his 100th appearance for the club in Saturday's game at Liverpool.
