Reading striker admits it is an important season in his career

Simon Church is hoping to take his chance at Reading in the coming weeks after admitting it is an 'important season' for his career. The striker scored an early winner in Reading's 1-0 success at Leeds United and also completed a rare 90 minutes this season at Elland Road. Skysports.com revealed last week that the Wales international is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and Championship ahead of January's transfer window. The 23-year-old is keen to play in the top flight and is determined to build on a run of four goals in his last four games for the Royals.

Brilliant

"I am on a good scoring run at the moment and that feels pretty good," said Church. "It has been a long time coming but it's starting to happen for me now and that is the main thing. "This is an important season for me. I need to be playing regularly, as I am 23 and I have to take my chance. "It is brilliant to be playing and scoring goals. I am not getting any younger and I want to play in the Premier League."
