Striker feels squad is strong enough to win promotion this season

Nikola Zigic insists he remains committed to Birmingham City and wants to help the club secure a return to the Premier League. The Serbian striker was widely expected to leave St Andrew's in the summer following Blues' relegation to the Championship, but a move failed to materialise. The 31-year-old has since started only four league games this season and has again been tipped to be sold in January to remove his salary from the club's wage bill. However, Zigic is not thinking about leaving in the New Year and believes Chris Hughton's squad is strong enough to win promotion back to the top flight. "My commitment is to Birmingham," said Zigic. "If I can help them I want to help. "It was disappointing to go out of Europe but now we must change our head and concentrate on the Championship. "We want to be back in the Premier League next season. "We have a very good group here. If these players can stay together, then we have a big possibility of winning promotion. "We have two games in hand and if we win them that will be good for us. "Every point is so important at this stage."
