Sporting Lisbon and Roma linked with Man City defender

Stefan Savic's agent claims the defender will be leaving Manchester City on loan during the January transfer window. The Montenegro international joined City on a four-year contract in the summer from Partizan Belgrade, but has yet to establish himself in Roberto Mancini's plans. The 20-year-old has made 12 appearances for the club in all competitions, but his only Premier League start came in the 3-2 win at Queens Park Rangers in early November. He has been linked with moves to Sporting Lisbon and Roma, and his representative Zoran Stojadinovic expects Savic to head out of the Etihad Stadium in the New Year. "It is true that he is on his way out of City in January and that he will leave on loan," Stojadinovic told O Jogo. However, a potential stumbling block to the deal could be City defender Kolo Toure's departure for the African Cup of Nations in January. Toure will be linking up with the Ivory Coast squad and Mancini would be left with just Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott as recognised centre-halves if he also agreed to Savic's temporary departure.
