Keeper sees loan deal turned into a permanent move

Aston Villa have confirmed that Elliot Parish is to remain with Cardiff City, with the goalkeeper having completed a permanent switch. The Villa Park academy graduate joined the Bluebirds on loan at the start of the season, with the 21-year-old of the opinion that first-team opportunities would be easier to come by in South Wales. Parish was held in high regard by Villa, with his potential marking him out as one for the future. He joined Villa in 2006 and was part of their successful U18 side that won the Premier Academy League and reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2007/08. His route to the first team has remained blocked, though, and his first taste of senior football came during a loan spell at Lincoln City last season. Parish headed out on the road again over the summer in order to gain further experience and he has now taken the decision to remain with Cardiff on a permanent basis.
