Gunners Goalkeeper returns for second spell at KC Stadium

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has signed a loan deal with Hull City until the end of the season. The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful spell with the Championship side last season, helping the Tigers pick up 21 points in 10 games. Mannone had at one time challenged for the No.1 spot at Arsenal but disappointing displays along with the rise of Wojciech Szczesny combined to hamper his chances. The Italian shot-stopper has managed to make just one appearance for the Gunners in 2011/12 when he came on for the injured Lukasz Fabianski in the UEFA Champions League defeat to Olympiakos. The former under-21 international signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal in 2010 but has spent most of his time playing for the reserves. The transfer would also appear to put an end to rumours linking Newcastle's Steve Harper with a switch to the KC Stadium.
