Clarets boss Howe vows to give teenage striker time

Burnley striker Danny Ings will not be rushed back early from injury, manager Eddie Howe has insisted. The 19-year-old is yet to make his Clarets debut after damaging knee cartilage in training last year. He was due to make his comeback in a reserve clash with Tranmere but with that match now rearranged, the former Bournemouth player must wait to prove his fitness. "Danny is back in training and it will be great to have him back," Howe told the Lancashire Telegraph. "He's a talented player and I'm sure the fans are looking forward to seeing him. "But we don't want to put too pressure on him because he's still young and we want to make sure he's 100 per cent fit. We don't want him to have any ill effects. "It's his first serious injury and he will need a period of time, because it's a big move and a new level for him as well. So I would ask for people to be patient with him."
