Striker fractures cheekbone in win over Lecce

Juventus have been rocked by the news that striker Fabio Quagliarella sustained a fractured cheekbone in his side's win over Lecce on Sunday. The 28-year-old is set to undergo surgery after sustaining the injury to his right cheekbone in the 1-0 Serie A victory. Quagliarella was substituted in the 23rd minute of the match and is now facing a spell on the sidelines. A statement on the official Juventus website read: "Fabio Quagliarella has undergone a CT scan at the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce, accompanied by club doctor Luca Stefanini. "The scan has identified a full fracture of his right cheekbone arch. "The 28-year-old is set to return to Turin with the squad and will remain overnight at the Fornaca clinic where he will be visited by Doctor Libero Tubino and, probably, tomorrow (Monday) undergo surgery to reduce the fracture."
