Jermaine Pennant has refuted claims he could be offloaded by Stoke in this month's transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been a substitute for the last three games for the Potters which has triggered the whispers about his future.
Yet the former Arsenal youngster insists that because his absence from the team has coincided with the transfer window, observers are drawing the wrong conclusions.
"The club have not come to me and said 'we are interested in letting you go or do you want to leave' and I've not gone to the club and said 'I want to leave'," he told Sky Sports News.
Rumours
"So there is always going to be rumours when someone is not playing around this time.
"If it was the end of September, there would be no rumours but because it's the transfer window, things start flying. As soon as January goes, there will be no rumours."
Pennant is confident he will soon regain his place in Tony Pulis' starting XI so that he can demonstrate why he is one of the best crossers in the division.
"The team is doing well and as soon as I get my chance to get back in the team I'm sure I will take it," he added.
