Starlet set for fresh terms

Sky Sports understands that Middlesbrough are set to hand a new contract to starlet Curtis Main. The 19-year-old joined Boro in pre-season after leaving non-league rivals Darlington. Despite his tender years, Main had already registered over 50 first-team games for the club - although Boro signed him to their development squad. However, Main has been in excellent form for Boro's reserve and development sides, hitting double figures before Christmas. Main's progress has been such that he has made the bench for the first-team twice in recent weeks. Boro have been sufficiently impressed and are now ready to hand him a two-and-a-half year deal.
