Real star not selected, while struggling Ronaldinho remains

Kaka and Robinho have been dropped from the Brazil squad to face Bosnia later this month, while veteran Ronaldinho has made the grade. Brazil boss Mano Menezes made his selection for the friendly, which is set to take place in Switzerland on February 28. Real Madrid attacker Kaka has been left out of the squad despite being a regular feature at the Bernabeu this campaign. Ronaldinho, 31, has retained his place in Menezes' squad despite struggling with Brazilian outfit Flamengo. "Ronaldinho is part of a project," he said. "I can't start making changes just because of his bad moment right now.

Expectations

"Maybe I didn't see something that I was expecting to see from him." Ronaldinho, who has 93 caps to date, returned to the Brazil squad late in 2010 after being left out of the World Cup in South Africa. Robinho is another big name who has been left out of the squad despite being a regular feature for Brazil since Menezes took over following the World Cup in South Africa. Santos stars Neymar and Paulo Henrique Ganso have also been called up to the squad, with many earmarking the pair as the future of the national team.
Future
Neymar, who already has eight international goals, is joined by Alex Sandro, Danilo, Rafael, Lucas, Sandro, Ganso and Leandro Damiao as the only eight called by Menezes who are eligible to play in the Olympics later this year. The Olympic tournament only permits players under the age of 23 to take part with up to three over-age members allowed in each squad. However, Menezes is holding his cards close to his chest in terms of London 2012 claiming that he will announce the squad closer to the tournament. Santos goalkeeper Rafael is the only newcomer in Menezes' squad for the friendly with all of the other players having been capped previously. Brazil will also take on Denmark in Germany in May before touring the United States to play with a friendly against South American rivals Argentina in June.
