Brazilian midfielder weighing up his options

Brazilian midfielder Ederson admits he is edging towards the exits at Lyon, with a frustrating spell on the bench forcing him to weigh up his options. The 26-year-old has been on the books at Stade Gerland since 2008 and has made over 100 appearances for the club. He has, however, fallen out of favour in recent weeks, leaving him kicking his heels on the sidelines. Ederson admits he cannot afford to be missing games at this stage of his career, with it his ambition to force to his way back into the Brazil squad in time for the 2014 World Cup.

Priority

"I always said that my priority was to continue at Lyon but things aren't moving forward," he said. "Being on the bench it's hard to motivate yourself to continue because I'm a competitor. "I have personal objectives, notably to make my way back into the Brazil team. The 2014 World Cup is in my country and I hope to play in it." He added: "We still haven't reached agreement with Lyon. If I don't extend, I'll play elsewhere. A lot of clubs are interested but nothing has been agreed yet."
