Portsmouth goalkeeper Stephen Henderson hopes that his performances this season will not go unnoticed by Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni.
The 23-year-old has been in excellent form for the South Coast outfit in his first full season in the Championship after joining from Bristol City last summer.
His progress has been spotted by Trapattoni, with Henderson receiving his first call-up to the Ireland squad for last month's 1-1 draw with Czech Republic.
Though Henderson did not win his first cap in the friendly, he has not given up on earning a place in Trapattoni's 23-man squad for the European Championship.
"I've said it so many times, it is something that I'd love to do, but obviously it is Mr Trapattoni's decision at the end of the day," Henderson told Sky Sports.
"I believe that I've been playing quite well consistently this season and that is all I can do to try and put my name into his thoughts.
"If I keep putting in good performances then hopefully they won't go unnoticed and if I get the call-up when it comes round I will honestly be the happiest man alive."
