Middlesbrough full-back Tony McMahon hopes to finalise a new deal before the end of the season after insisting he does not want to leave.

Full-back is not looking to play his football anywhere else

Middlesbrough full-back Tony McMahon is hoping to finalise a new contract before the end of the season after insisting he does not want to leave. McMahon has made over 130 appearances for Boro after coming through the club's Academy, but his current deal expires in the summer. The 26-year-old admitted last month that he wants to sign an extension and that manager Tony Mowbray is keen to have him in his plans next term. He is now hoping to resume discussions and is keen to resolve his future at The Riverside swiftly irrespective of Boro's battle to clinch a play-off place.

Hope

"My contract is up at the end of the season and I've said all along I want to stay," McMahon told the Evening Gazette. "I want it sorting as quickly as possible regardless of what league we are in next season. Hopefully we can do that, sit down with the club and get something sorted before the end of the season. "I've been here a long, long time and this is the only place I want to play football. "We have had talks recently, the talks have gone a little bit quiet but hopefully we can sit down soon and get it sorted so I know where I'm going to be playing. But this is the only place I want to play so I hope we can get it sorted."
