Liverpool waiting on approval of goalkeeper recall

Liverpool have confirmed they have spoken to Hull City over recalling Peter Gulacsi as they look to solve their goalkeeping crisis ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final. Championship side Hull announced earlier on Wednesday the Hungarian will return to his parent club to provide cover for the suspended Jose Reina and Alexander Doni, who are unavailable for this weekend's clash with Everton at Wembley. The Reds have now confirmed they have recalled the youngster, who turns 22 early next month, and are waiting on approval of the agreement. A statement on the club's official website said: "Liverpool Football Club can confirm they have spoken to Hull City about the recall of goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi. "The agreement is subject to approval from the Premier League, Football League and the FA." Gulacsi, who has made 15 appearances for Hull since joining on loan last summer, is likely to feature in Kenny Dalglish's squad at Wembley, with Brad Jones expected to start. Jones replaced Doni following his red card in the opening half of Liverpool's 3-2 victory at Blackburn on Tuesday night, but was fortunate not to be sent off when giving away a penalty against Yakubu in the second half. Liverpool No.1 Reina will serve the third match of his three-game suspension on Saturday for his red card at Newcastle at the beginning of April.
