Jay Rodriguez could make comeback before end of season

Striker Josh McQuoid says he has enjoyed his spell on loan at Burnley and is feeling settled at Turf Moor. The 22-year-old joined the club from fellow Championship side Millwall on a temporary deal in January. His current deal is set to expire before the home game against Bristol City on the final day of the season, but the Northern Ireland international has been linked with a permanent move. "I've definitely enjoyed it," McQuoid told the Lancashire Telegraph. "Wherever you go, as long as you're playing football and you feel you're doing well then you're going to enjoy it. "It's obviously a great team and it's been enjoyable playing with all the lads. "I knew a few of the lads when I came as well as the manager, assistant and some of the staff (having previously worked with Howe and assistant Jason Tindall at Bournemouth) so it was pretty easy to settle in. "Playing wise I think I've settled in from the start. "I played a couple of games, came out, and now I've been on a little run. "It's good for me to get games and play well. "When you're given a run of games your confidence grows."

Working hard

Meanwhile, Clarets manager Eddie Howe is confident that top scorer Jay Rodriguez could make his comeback before the end of the season, following a groin injury. "He's not far away. He's working hard. It's the type of injury we need to make sure he's not getting and niggles," said Howe. "He played at Ipswich when he perhaps shouldn't have done. He pushed himself when we weren't aware that he was still feeling the injury. "Hopefully we'll see him before the end of the season, but we can't guarantee that."
